Pouria Eghdami

Pouria Eghdami (*1987) is a composer, sound artist and researcher based in Berlin/Leipzig. His music are characterized by their own conceptual ideas, imaginativeness and creativity with approach to unconventional utilization of electronics and sonic matters, musical notation, instrumental mechanism and physicality [the physical operation of a musical instrument] and delineated and depicted a microscopic sound production process and the behavior of substances and forces, which concretely ties together heterogeneous or disparate elements and gathered both into a single context as an Apparatus.  It is particularly noteworthy in which equally rational-discursive and musically-creative way he incorporates and transforms the geological/geomorphic phenomenon into his music and recontextualize their relevant processes in the sonic context (materials, forces, timbre, texture, form, and sound morphology), as well as the intellectual influences of philosophers such as Gilles Deleuze and Jacques Derrida, who are important for his work.

He studied composition with Claus-Steffen Mahnkopf at university of Music and Theatre »Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy« Leipzig and with Mark Andre, Franz Martin Olbrisch and Manos Tsangaris at university of Music “Carl Maria von Weber” Dresden.
